Our Mascot Journal

On May 1, 2004 in a little town called Fountain Valley, the hunt began for a official mascot image for our Chapter, web site and other documents. The word was out and drawings were submitted, ideas tossed, hair pulled and soon a wondrous little pink flamingo showed up. As the weeks progressed, our friendly pink character began to rise as the leader. Officially born on July 4, 2004, our little pink friend created a whirlwind of excitement among the townsfolk.  The media blitz was crazy in a little town called Montebello as hundreds of letters were sifted through by the town board.  A list was compiled to name the birth of the little pink bird. The anticipation mounted in the Quiet Cannon where hundreds huddled waiting for the big news!  The envelope was passed hand-to-hand as the towns folk deemed "Fiona" as the official birth name of our mascot.
