Discussions
The discussion period is your time to bring to the table any questions you might have of your colleagues.
Maybe you faced a difficult subpoena, a difficult employee or even a CLETS stumper, bring your samples, hand outs, and questions to the meeting will help foster a more member involved group discussion.
Don't be shy, a tough situation may have already been experienced by another member and their assistance and guidance will garner you a new friend and the help you need to critically think problems.
Problem solving is a goal for CLEARS, and the more members in attendance helps provide amazing results.
HOSTING AGENCY RESPONSIBILITIES
MONTH PRIOR TO THE MEETING
Receive registration packet from 1st VP
Take phone reservations for meeting
Identify Standing List reservations
Contact 1st VP with reservations total
DAY OF THE MEETING
Arrive early and set up registration desk
Meet with Treasurer for receipt process
Greet incoming guests
Issue receipts
Balance income record
DURING THE MEETING
Assist in distributing hand outs
Assist the trainer with any needs
Collect training surveys
END OF THE MEETING
Clean up registration desk
Review room for lost items

BOARD MEETINGS
During the Chapter Board meetings, the monthly business of the CLEARS Chapter is discussed. This formal setting is includes an agenda and covers each of the Board participant's reports. Decisions about Chapter level business are discussed and later announced at the general session. All members are welcome to attend the board meeting when "new business" may need to be addressed.
GENERAL SESSIONS Immediately following the registration process, the general business announcements are made to the Chapter members. This includes the President's report of state level business, Chapter finances, raffle or charity information, as well as a variety of other reports. Member voting may be requested of the Chapter membership present for business that impacts all members, so you're monthly attendance is encouraged. Networking among your Records management colleagues is another benefit and necessity in today's rapidly changing environment. The friends and colleagues you meet will provide you shared expertise in those tough decisions or challenges you might face on a daily business. So, come join us this month! A tasty lunch is included as part of the monthly fees.
